For my birthday, I wanted to bring my community together, to do some good for two organizations that I am involved in and that inspire me with their work — charity:water and Surfrider Foundation’s Vancouver Chapter.
I planned and hosted an art exhibit featuring the artwork of 11 talented friends, created and donated by them, themed around water and their interpretation of the subject. We also had a raffle draw, music and cash bar throughout the evening.
Around 150 friends and family came, and together, we raised close to $4700 for charity:water, providing 122 individuals clean water for life. On top of that we were able to donate another $500 to Surfrider Foundation’s Vancouver Chapter to support their mission in protecting our oceans and our local coastlines.
